Walking on Sunshine (in the rain!?)

Hey ya'll!

Happy Wednesday, we're halfway there :) I hope you have been having an excellent week thus far. I sure have! I've been walkin on sunshine this whole week. Which is pretty remarkable considering the weather outside looks like this...

Okay so it doesn't really look like this here in MT, but I have been thinking
about the Arnold Classic in Madrid Spain that's happening this weekend so I got
Spain on the brain! ... this photos is of some genuine "Rain in Spain"  ;-)

And this is just a vibrant and beautiful respesentation of rain called
"Downpour" that I found while googling "Rain in Spain"

All that pitter-patter on rainbows and happiness had made my workouts super intense and sore-ness inducing...the best kind of workout! My cardio has been killer... Shannon has me up to 60min of morning cardio every day now instead of the 30min a day I was enjoying back during my "smoothing" days before the FLEX show and the WA Ironman; sadly those days have come and gone but I am taking a liking to this new challenge because it means I am improving my tone and conditioning for Nationals and I am all about that! Speaking of Nationals, I am so glad I decided to do it and so blessed to have my airfare sponsored by ZipFizz Energy drink mix because the idea of stepping on stage with the best in the nation is serious motivation. I've had no trouble saying no to late night snack attacks, or turning down the Shaina's cookies making googly eyes at me from the pantry, and the allure of sleeping in and skipping out on 6am cardio. I am in love with this feeling!

So on another note, you're here because you must think my ramblings are interesting so I thought I'd share my latest work for the school paper, The Technocrat. The article is on Gender Stereotypes in the Gym. Here's the first section...

"If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, then Mar’s gyms must be full of weight benches and dumbbells and Venus’s gyms must be full of ellipticals, treadmills, and abdominal machines...."

Read on by clicking here at the Technocrat blog to find it in it's original condition. Enjoy the rest of the week! Let's make it an even better half :-D

Blessings,
Ruthie
